PJSC “Ukrzaliznytsia” intends to deliver transit goods on the “New silk road” to Central Asia for 10 days
February 2, 2016, at the premises of PJSC “Ukrzaliznytsia” a meeting was held on the occasion of the historic event – the arrival of the pilot train of the Ukraine – Georgia – Azerbaijan – Kazakhstan – China in your destination. This is an alternative way of cargo delivery from West to East bypassing Russia through Ukraine, Georgia, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan to China.
Acting Chairman of the Board of PJSC “Ukrzaliznytsia” Alexander Zavgorodniy reported that the pilot train, sent on 15 January from Illichivsk, successfully reached the final destination on 31 January, i.e. 15 days. On the route test train crossed the Black sea and the main stations: Batumi port, Alyat Aktau Port, Beineu, Zhezkazgan, Balkhash-1.
“The route is challenging and employs six members, each of which has its logistics policy. Therefore, further organization of clear interaction between them is essential for the movement of this train,” said A. Zavgorodnyaya and noted the need to adhere to the following key customer requirements like cost, speed and safety of freight transport.
Therefore, PJSC “Ukrzaliznytsia” at the meeting in Astana (Kazakhstan) to be held at the end of February 2016, plans to negotiate with the participants about the route of reducing the time spent in this route. “Our task – to overcome the route in 10 days”, – said A. Zavgorodnyaya.
